Today it rained heavily.
I was traveling home with a friend on a public bus. We were chatting side by side before I caught a glimpse on an accident which occurred behind our bus.The motorist behind our bus lost his balance and his motorcycle toppled over in the middle of the road. It flashed right before my eyes and I was left dummbfounded. Upon hearing what I witnessed, my friend suggested that we alight the bus to take a look. I was really worried about the motorist but I felt it was really silly and inconvenient to alight a bus on a rainy day. Hence, we both remained on the bus.
How could I?!
I returned home, hoping that all would be well for the motorist, but the guilt of not helping him remained in my mind. An hour after I returned home, my father reached home with his bicycle. His left side of the face was covered in blood and there were two really deep cuts. He had fallen down on his journey back. It was terrifying. After he went for a shower, he appeared with his towel wiping his face. His towel was stained with crimson and the two cuts showed distinctly on his wrinkled face – one on his eye brow and the other on his left cheekbone.

I could have lend a hand to the man before, but I did not. Just because of inconvenience. Now, my father was hurt this badly. It must have been my punishment. Guilt and shame clung on me like parasites, unable to remove from my mind. Blood kept dripping out of his cuts in streaks of red and everytime it happens, it terrorised me more than ever.
I hate myself for being so selfish...
Give me another chance. A chance to repay my sins. Since I have been so selfish, let me be again. Let me take the physical pain. Let me bleed, instead of him. So that I can escape the guilt and the heartache of watching a loved one in pain. Now, I could only repay the bloods with tears. I am sorry for my selfishness.
