These comic strips made used of common place like a classroom, a stage, playground to show how certain events in Life are usually found in the most common places. Frame 3 made used of a dark area to show the characters' conflict and create the tension between the characters. Frame 6 made used of landscape to signify freedom.
All the settings are in Singapore, a society whose acceptance of HIV patients are still very low.
The theme of my narrative is on identity and recovery. Therefore, there have to be a change and conflict in the story to show how oneself accept himself/herself. The change in the backgrounds, characters' sizes and emotions are used to show how the character change and grow in the midst of the story. The story shows a lot of the main character's inner thoughts and hence the pictures help to better portay the character's feelings and inner thoughts. I keep my characters simple as I want the audience to focus more on the main character and how she gradually accept herself, which is based on the theme 'Identity'.
And this is my narrative.
