My favourite character in To Kill a Mockingbird is
Atticus Finch. I really love his personality in the story. He was a calm and respectable man. Even though he was a talented man, he kept his humility. Most children probably will love a father like Atticus. His treated his children with respect and gave them as much freedom as their safety allows. He had influenced his children to be educated in daily readings. He was also very opened to his children and shared many of the adult’s matters with them. Under his influence, his children had grown to become pretty much like him, especially the sense of justice. During the court case, his systematic thinking and questioning, and his gentle tone managed to influence the witness to tell more than what they actually wanted to say. Despite his age, I found him extremely cool especially when he was speaking. His appearance in every part of the story excited me as it shows how he deals with certain conflicts and problems. He could handle the problem so gracefully that no other character in the story could. What I like about him was also his love for his children. Even though he gave them a lot of freedom, he would still be beside them guiding them along and giving them advices, so as to teach them values learned in their experiences. I really admire this man, Atticus, in the story as a fair and respectable man, and as a caring father.
