I have not been blogging for quite a long time ecause of the overloading amount of homework and commitments that I have over the past term. It has been a long, yet quick term. Many students, including me, have been tensed up by all the events and tests in this term. Thankfully, the pace is slowing down gradually because most of our tests are over and there are many holidays coming along.
We are able to enjoy a long weekend because of the Labour Day holiday. On the day before labour day, I woke up to find my mother preparing some dough and mixed vegetables. She was in the preparation of making buns and I decided to join her in the fun. (:
My mother claimed to be a beginner herself. She demonstrated how to beat the dough to create the skin of the bun, how to add in the fillings and how to fold the skin to create a bun. Well, I have to admit my first attempt wasn't really successful. I kept screaming for help. With the help of the magical pair of hands beside me, I managed to finish making my first bun!
My large hand makes it easier to form the shape on the bun. The buns I made began to look better as we made them. Halfway through making them, my mother suddenly hopped up and down and and yelled like a little girl who lost her dolls. She forgotten to add an ingredient so in the end we had to make use of the available ingredients to make the other buns. Our initial buns were too large, thus easily flattened and looked very unappeasing. We tried making smaller buns and they turned out really adorable.
Making buns gave me a homely feeling. Setting aside my homework to mess up the kitchen with my mother was indeed a real thrill. I had not been spending quality time with my family and I really appreciate that day, that moment which I could spend with my mother. She seemed so young and energetic in the kitchen! Maybe I should get in the kitchen more often to distress and spend time with my family!(:
