The different perspectives used in a narrative have different benefits for the story itself.
Using First-person narrative allows the writer to deeply illustrates the narrator's character. It enhances the description of the character, and at the same time, invoke feelings to the readers. The narrator's peronsality is much more distinct in a first person narrative, as the readers could read the thoughts and sense the feelings of the narrator. The feelings are very raw and direct. However, the story plot will be restricted as the story is told from the narrator's perspective and every detail in the story are portrayed by how the narrator sees it.

Using Second-person narrative allows the writer to foster relationships with the readers, bringing them closer to the story. It is as if the readers are included in the plot. However, it should be avoided as it is very difficult to develop the story and characcter using this point of view. It can be added in as a change in viewpoint, so as to engage the readers more.

Using Third-person narrative provides the writer with opportunity to describe every detail and character. It allows the reader to be omniscient. Descriptive language are easier to apply to add colours in the story. The feelings of the characters could be protrayed too, but it only shows the apparent feelings, but not the inner thoughts. It shows the feelings of the characters through their behaviour and their change in expressions. This perspective is very useful for descriptive essay as it develops the story in all areas sufficiently.

Therefore, using which point of view depends on what message the writer wish to convey.
